Introduction: There’s BAD NEWS but GOOD NEWS! The BAD NEWS is judgment is coming, but the GOOD NEWS is JESUS is coming!! First, and next on God’s calendar, the “BRIDEGROOM” is preparing to return for His BRIDE—the Church. Afterwards, all hell is going to break loose!
While exiled on the Isle of Patmos during a time of immense PERSECUTION, including martyrdom, John, inspired by the Holy Spirit of God, writes to warn those reading and listening what is on the horizon.
1. Judgment is coming! (Mark 13:8) – “For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows.”
The word “sorrows” is ὠδίν, which means labor pains! Every mama knows that as the baby gets closer to being born, the labor pains INTENSIFY! Would you say that things happening at lightning speed in our world are intensifying?
Does it seem like all hell is unleashing an attack, especially on God’s people? Remember, my friend, our Lord Jesus said it would be this way. Prepare for battle—spiritual warfare.
Are you or your family facing attacks on your CHRISTIANITY? Be strong. Be vigilant. Be steadfast. Why? Because not only is MORE JUDGMENT coming (Rev. 6–18), but PRAISE the LAMB, JESUS is coming!
2. JESUS is COMING! (Rev. 22:12) – “And behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.”
When JESUS steps out on the clouds of glory, He is not coming to take sides—instead, HE is coming to TAKE OVER! That is GOOD NEWS in a BAD NEWS world!!
“And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.” (Rev. 22:16)
Are you tired? Weary? Worn out? Confused? Angry? Frustrated? Anxious? Afraid? LOOK UP. LOOK IN. LOOK OUT, because our REDEMPTION draws near!
Conclusion:What can we expect? MORE to COME… but our real HOPE RESTS in this: not only is GOD’S JUDGMENT COMING, but more importantly, JESUS is COMING SOON!
