Introduction: Are you prepared for the storms of life? How can we get ready? What do we need to do? Storms are inevitable. Storms come in different seasons of life. But regardless, we can get Storm Ready.

Here’s how:

1. Build on the Right Foundation! (Matt 7:24-27)

“Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: 25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. 26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: 27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.”

Jesus taught His disciples about the two different foundations which one could build upon. One is SAND. The other is ROCK. When obeyed His Word becomes a ROCK solid foundation. Are you building upon the ROCK or SAND?

2. Build with the Right Materials! (1Cor 3:11-16)

“10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. 11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; 13 Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is. 14 If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. 15 If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.”

This is a description of what will take place futuristically at the Judgment Seat of Christ. We are building with the materials – whether Right or Wrong – at the present time. 

Are you making it FIREPROOF?

3. Build with the Right Forecast in mind! (Matt 24:27)

“27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.”

At this event, the Storm will be over!

Jesus is coming like He said!

Conclusion: Get ready for the Storms of life. They’re coming! But we can be STORM READY!
