Spring Forward

1. Spring time is a time for cleaning!
“For lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone; 12The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land; 13The fig tree putteth forth her green figs, and the vines with the tender grape give a good smell. Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away.” (Song of Sol 2:11)
Here is a literal passage dealing with Solomon and his Shulamite bride. Yet there are some spiritual applications we can draw from the subject of spring. Do you ever put off projects during the cold winter months for when the temperature gets warmer? Spring Cleaning around the house is important. But just as important, if not more, is cleaning our hearts!
David said, “10Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.” (Psa 51:10)
John writes to CHRISTians, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1John 1:9)
Equally important is our relationship with others. Releasing the debt of forgiveness is a part of spring cleaning.
Paul writes, “32And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.” (Eph 4:32)
