Sharing Hope With the Hopeless

Introduction: Do you ever lose hope? Is Jesus the Hope for the world? Can people find Hope in Jesus? The Word of God gives us destiny, security, and identity in Jesus Christ. The world’s only Hope is temporary. Money can fly away. Houses will deteriorate. Bank accounts will dissolve. Stock Markets will vacillate. Conditional love will disappoint. Friendship can fail. The Bottom line: The world is in deep trouble. But the Good news is a relationship with the Son of God will be steadfast and secure. This is true both in good times and bad times. But remember; all are God’s time. The Bible does not change.
 
Here are some daily disappointments. But please recognize, Jesus brings Hope in the worse circumstances.
 

1. High Gas prices – Hope is in Jesus! (Matt 6:33,34)

“33But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. 34Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.”

Compared to the third world countries even the poorest American is wealthy.
Basically, we get spoiled.
Have you gotten spoiled?
 

2. Wars & rumors of wars – Hope is in Jesus! (Matt 24:3-7)

“3And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? 4And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you…. 5For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. 6And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.”

Division. Hostility. Death. Anger. Hatred. Greed. All of these characterize our world. Because of man’s sin, we see these things going on around the world. However, Jesus brings forgiveness and hope for humanity.
 

3. Pestilences (Covid) – Hope is in Jesus! (Matt 24:7,8)

“…..and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. 8All these are the beginning of sorrows.”

Suffering and pain is a part of life. But eternal joy is promised in the life to come hereafter. There will be no diseases or death in the New Jerusalem!
 

4. Political instability – Hope is in Jesus! (Prov 21:1)

“1The king’s heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will….”

(Dan 2:34,35)

“34Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces. 35Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.”

Man rules. But Jesus overrules! Things are going according to His plan and purpose.
 
Conclusion: Hang in there! Hope is on the way!! Call out to Jesus. He will be there. He is our Hope.
