Seeking Safety from the Storm Clouds on the Horizon

Introduction: A storm is coming. The wind is blowing. Clouds can be seen on the horizon. Are you getting ready? Can you see it coming? Will you help others?

What will catch us off guard? Discouragement (Matt. 24:42–46 — the Master’s delay), worldliness (Lot’s wife — Luke 17:32), procrastination (Matt. 25 — ten virgins).

1. Can you see the storm clouds of FALSE RELIGION, and will you find a storm shelter of DISCERNMENT? (Matt. 16:1–4) – “The Pharisees also with the Sadducees came, and tempting desired him that he would shew them a sign from heaven. He answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red. And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowring. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times? A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas.”

If ever there was a time for discernment, it is today. Put your spiritual antennas up, because there are a lot of false spirits out there. But only thru the filter of God’s Word can we know truth and discover error.

John the Revelator warns us of a time when the apostate Church will be prominent. In the book of Revelation, the harlot woman riding the beast depicts this movement which is already in progress. Watch out for it! Look for the storm clouds. Take safety in the arms of Jesus.

2. Can you tell the storm clouds of GOD’S JUDGMENT is on the horizon, and are you preparing and showing others how to WEATHER the storms that are coming? (Rev. 6–18 — Wrath of the Lamb, seals, trumpets, and bowls, etc.)

Following the rapture of the Church, there will be the 21 terrible judgments of God unleashed by the Lord Jesus Christ on planet earth. Death, disease, and destruction will be the result. However, God has made a refuge today to be safe from His wrath. What a message of HOPE! Will you share this GOOD NEWS with others who are destined for the Lake of Fire?

3. Will you find (run into) the SHELTER of SAFETY called REMEMBRANCE? (Rev. 21–22; 1 Cor. 3; 2 Cor. 5; 1 Cor. 9; 2 Tim. 4:7–8; Rev. 22:12; Rev. 3:11) – JESUS is coming! He will return. Will you wait patiently, work diligently, worship humbly, and witness faithfully until He comes?

Conclusion: Please do not be content to be in the SHELTER alone. Look out and see the storm clouds coming, consider the false religion that is evolving, and finally provide a helping hand to others who will be left behind.
