Introduction: Are you praying for the “Peace of Jerusalem”? Should we pray for the “Peace of Jerusalem”? How should we pray for the “Peace of Jerusalem”? This devotion will discuss these questions.
1. When we get to go to the House of the Lord, it should make us GLAD! (Psa 122:1-3)
“I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD. 2Our feet shall stand within thy gates, O Jerusalem. 3Jerusalem is builded as a city that is compact together.”
Why should we be GLAD? Are you GLAD when you get to go to Church? Why? Explain.
2. When we go to the House of the Lord it should make us MAD! (Psa 122:4,5)
“4Whither the tribes go up, the tribes of the LORD, unto the testimony of Israel, to give thanks unto the name of the LORD. 5For there are set thrones of judgment, the thrones of the house of David.”
Antisemitism is blatant in America. Several outspoken Muslim ladies in congress are adamantly opposed to Israel. There seems to be a hatred for the Jewish people. Do you resent God’s people? The Lord reminded Israel through Ezekiel’s writings.
“2Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I do not this for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for mine holy name’s sake, which ye have profaned among the heathen, whither ye went. 23And I will sanctify my great name, which was profaned among the heathen, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, saith the Lord GOD, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes. 24For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land. 25Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. 26A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. 27And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them. 28And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.” (Ezek 36:2-28)
God has a plan for Israel and the Church. His will is being done.
3. When we go to the House of the Lord, it should make us SAD! (Ezek 122:6-9)
“6Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee. 7Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces. 8For my brethren and companions’ sakes, I will now say, Peace be within thee. 9Because of the house of the LORD our God I will seek thy good.”
Right now Jesus Christ is not on His throne in Jerusalem. What will He do? When will He take His throne? Why is this important? What Bible prophecies are fulfilled? Presently, it is SAD because JERUSALEM is a cup of trembling as Zechariah writes. Leaders are intoxicated with a power struggle over the city of God. But ultimately, Jesus will return and set up His Kingdom.
Conclusion: Israel is the apple of God’s eye. She is the center of the earth. All on the earth during the millennium (Kingdom) will go up to Jerusalem to worship the King! Only then will there be PEACE in JERUSALEM. If that be the case, then we need to continue to PRAY for the “PEACE of JERUSALEM”!
Love y’all,
