Introduction: Can you believe the opening scene of the 2024 Summer Olympics in France? Blasphemy! What a mockery of Jesus Christ and the Christian faith! Although admittedly, there are a number of professing believers in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ participating. Yet, should we be surprised? The spirit of Antichrist is already at work.

 

1. JESUS WARNED His disciples as well as CHRISTians today! (Mark 13:23) – “But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things.”

 

Our Lord Jesus tried to forewarn us. Although it almost seems unbelievable the things going on in our WOKE world {W- willingness – O- overlook – K – known – E – evil}. Still, this is why we need to be “steadfast unmovable” always abounding in the work of the Lord.  As soldiers of the cross, let’s keep fighting the “GOOD FIGHT of FAITH”!

 

2. PAUL FORETOLD believers what is to come! (2Tim 3:1-7) – “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection…..lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof.”

 

Even though this was written several thousand years ago, it is relevant today. Do you agree? Go back twenty, thirty years ago. Would you have ever dreamed our world would be in such chaos and confusion, deception and delusion?

 

The spirit of Antichrist is rampant. All of this is setting the stage for the rising of the “man of sin” otherwise known as the Antichrist.

 

CHALLENGE: HOW TO STAY STRONG in a WOKE WORLD: Don’t you want to stay strong? But you ask, “how”?

Check out Revelation 2:25: “But that which ye have already hold fast till I come. And he that overcometh…”

 

1. PAST TENSE! (Rev 2:25) – “But that which ye have already…”

What do we (Church) have already?
* the precious redeeming blood of Jesus
* the mighty cross of Christ
* the anointing and filling of the Holy Spirit
* the power of the Word of God

We have God’s AMAZING, AVAILABLE, and ABOUNDING GRACE!
We have God’s PEACE that passes all understanding!! Money cannot buy it. The world can’t give it. It comes through a personal relationship with the God of the Bible.
We have got the LOVE of God shed abroad in our hearts!!! It needs to be desperately shared.
We have the whole armor of God!!!! This enables us to fight against the wiles {schemes} of the devil and his demons.
We have the only HOPE to share with a HOPELESS world. Do we need to WAKEUP in a WOKE world?

 

2. PRESENT TENSE! (Rev 2:25,26) – “But that which ye have already……hold fast … .And he that overcometh…”

The word for “hold fast” is κρατέω, (krat-eh’-o), which means to be strong, or to rule. Are you staying strong in your faith? Love? Patience? Praying? Soul winning?

 

It is not “if” Jesus is coming but “when” He is returning. It could be today! Are you ready to meet Him? Have your sins been forgiven by His cleansing blood? Is your name written in the lambs book of life?

 

CONCLUSION: The message is clear. Our focus is set. Our goal is ahead. Our mission is established. Our passion is Jesus. Our cry is victory!
