How To Pray for “Thy Kingdom Come”

Introduction: Is Jesus’ kingdom coming? When? And how? What has to happen before His Kingdom is inaugurated? Should believers pray for His kingdom to come?

The great and late prophet Daniel reveals these truths.

1. Daniel discussed the dominions (kingdoms) that would rise and fall.

By the way, four of them have already come and gone {Babylon, Medo Persian, Grecian, and Roman}. The fifth prior to Jesus’ kingdom is yet to come. Here is his description:

“And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken. 43 And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay.”

The ten toes represents ten kings which the Antichrist will head up. However, he will ultimately face his demise.

2. Daniel delivers his description of a DOMINION (Kingdom) that will never be destroyed!

“And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever. 45 Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure.”

Whereas Jesus Christ was the “Stone that the builders rejected,” He will also be the Stone cut out of the mountain that will crush the Antichrist.

His kingdom shall overthrow all kingdoms. So that His glory and power will sovereignly reign over all the earth.

Conclusion: Get ready. His kingdom is coming. No one can stop Him! So let’s pray…”Thy Kingdom come.”
