Introduction: Give me some “GOOD NEWS.” JESUS CHRIST was born — born to die — born to die but rise from the dead — born to die but rise from the dead, and then promise to return someday soon. Here are two of the BEST gifts you can give this CHRISTMAS.
1. GO and TELL! (Luke 2:16–17) – “And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us. And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger. And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child.”
Here it is. Go and tell. Tell what?
Tell that man’s a big sinner but Jesus Christ is a bigger SAVIOR! Tell that our sins can be “blotted out” forever while being thrown into the deep sea of God’s forgetfulness! Tell of the greatest LOVE God has for each of us! Tell of Jesus Christ’s victory over the grave. Tell of His glorious resurrection! Tell of His soon return for His bride! Tell of His rewards in glory! Tell of His coming to totally defeat the antichrist and his armies! Tell of His overthrow of Satan’s kingdom. Tell of His millennial kingdom which shall have no end. Tell of His NEW HEAVEN and new earth! Tell of His NEW JERUSALEM, the city that will descend out of heaven.
2. KNOW, but then SHOW and TELL! (Luke 2:16–18) – “And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child. And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds… And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.”
After they witnessed the evidence of the birth of Christ, then they TESTIFIED what they had seen and heard. In other words, it was SHOW and TELL! In fact, it is one thing to KNOW, but it is another thing to SHOW!
Conclusion: Will you tell this GOOD NEWS? Will you follow the shepherds’ obedience by GOING and SHOWING? May God bless you abundantly as you GO and SHOW!
