Turn On Your Lights This Christmas

Introduction: Are your lights on? On bright? Turn them on! Keep them on this Christmas. Others need to see the Way, the Truth, and the Life!! Actually, we all need to see the LIGHT (John 8:12). So why then should we TURN the LIGHT ON?

1. Turn on your lights if you have SEEN JESUS as the Son of God! (1 John 1:1–3) – “That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;) That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.”

Please notice that the word “seen” is θεάομαι. It is pronounced theh-ah’-om-ahee, and it means to gaze upon or to look. Interestingly, it is where we get our word “theatre.”

Can you see JESUS in the Scriptures? Can you see Jesus in your life? Can you see Jesus in others? Turn on the LIGHT.

2. Turn on your lights if you have TOUCHED JESUS by the Holy Spirit! (1 John 1:2–3) – “That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;) That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.”

The word “handled” is ψηλαφάω, which means to feel after, to handle, or to touch.
Have you touched Jesus? Or better yet, has He touched you? Once you’ve been touched by the HAND of JESUS, you will never be the same!

3. Turn on your lights if you want others to WITNESS JESUS by the Power of God!

I love the word “witness.” It is μαρτυρέω, where we get our word for charge or to give evidence. It can mean to bear record or report. But most importantly, it means to testify, to give testimony, and to be a witness.

Bottom line: Turn your lights on for others to see the path of righteousness.

Conclusion: Don’t forget to TURN on YOUR LIGHTS this CHRISTMAS!

Love y’all,
