Waiting on the Lord

Introduction: Hurry up and wait!! Do you have a hard time being patient? Waiting is taxing, especially in a hospital. Just got off the phone with a man who is in the hospital waiting to find out exactly what is wrong with him. Speaking of waiting! Prior to talking and praying with him, I had another prayer and conversation with a lady who just found out her brother passed away. This life is full of tribulations and trials. But there is HOPE in the Lord! Learning to WAIT upon the Lord is the key. But how can we wait? Here are (3) benefits for WAITING upon the Lord. David knew the importance of “waiting” upon the Lord.

1. WAIT with TRUST!

“14Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.” (Psa 27:14)

The word “wait” is קָוָה: (kaw-vaw’), which means to wait for. Will you wait?

2. WAIT and be ENCOURAGED!

“14Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.” (Psa 27:14)

When we wait, we get encouragement.

3. WAIT and be STRENGTHENED!

“14Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.” (Psa 27:14)

Everyone needs strength for the journey.

Conclusion: Will you take some time to “wait” upon the Lord today? There are physical, emotional, and more importantly, spiritual benefits, for “Waiting upon the Lord”!
