Introduction: Is Prayer Work? Does Prayer Work? It works, if you work it! How does it work? Paul encourages other believers to join him in prayer. Check it out:
1. The Power of Prayer!
“Now I beseech you, brethren, for the Lord Jesus Christ’s sake, and for the love of the Spirit, that ye strive together with me in your prayers to God for me.” (Rom 15:30)
The word “strive” is συναγωνίζομαι: (soon-ag-o-nid’-zom-ahee), which means I struggle in company with, aid.
When we get under the burden to pray for others, it can be taxing, but rewarding!

2. The Purpose of Prayer!
“1That I may be delivered from them that do not believe in Judaea; and that my service which I have for Jerusalem may be accepted of the saints.” (Rom 15:31)
There is a goal in Paul’s prayer. It is for God’s glory but for the Church’s good.
3. The Peace in Prayer!
“That I may come unto you with joy by the will of God, and may with you be refreshed. 33Now the God of peace be with you all. Amen.” (Rom 15:32,33)
Everyone needs refreshing! All of us need the Peace of God.
Conclusion: This passage of Scripture reveals the multipurpose for prayer. It’s Powerful! It brings Peace! Prayer brings Provision!
Let’s pray!
