Are You a Sheep or a Goat?

Introduction: What about the passage in Matthew 25? What is the correct interpretation? This is referred to as the “Judgment of the Nations.” Is this for us today? Did our Lord have Israel in mind? Can we draw application from the text? First, let’s discuss the identity of these individuals.
1. The Sheep on the right side!
“And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.” (Matt 25:33)
The sheep appear to be those Gentiles at the end of the tribulation that have treated the Jewish evangelists in a worthy manner. Consequently, Jesus commends them and invites them to join Him in the 1,000-year reign.
2. The Goats on the left side!
“And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.” (Matt 25:33)
The goats will be those Gentiles who have not treated the Lord Jesus’ “brethren” as they would Him. Consequently, they are sent to judgment.
3. The Jews in the middle!
“40And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.” (Matt 25:40)
These are servants (Jewish). It is life’s highest privilege to serve our Lord! Are you serving Him?
4. Jesus over all!
To the Sheep:
“34Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.” (Matt 25:34)
To the Goats:
“41Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels.”
Only Jesus is the righteous judge. He knows what is best.
