What To Do When You Don’t Know What To Do

Introduction: Sometimes we just do not know what to to. There are some situations that we are left not knowing what to do. Are you facing one right now? Well, hopefully we can draw some strength and encouragement from our Lord’s Word today; furthermore, perhaps we can be empowered by His Holy Spirit to face these situations when we do not know what to do. Here are some biblical examples of what we can do:

1. Be Still!

“Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.” (Psa 46:10)

Instead of going into a frenzy of activity, sometimes it is good to just to “be still” and know that God is God! Are you there?

2. Be focused!

“3Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. 4Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength.” (Isa 26:3,4)

Having the right focus is important….a Jesus focus. Asking these questions….”what are You up to Lord? How should we respond?”

3. Be PATIENT!

“Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him.” (Psa 37:7)

Hurry up & WAIT! Impatient world!! Don’t forget. The fruit of the Spirit is “patience.” Exercise patience.

4. Be Purposeful!

“Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: 7That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:” (1Pet 1:6,7)

In other words, does this trial of our faith have an ultimate purpose? Do we need to work out what our Lord works in?

5. Be Hopeful!

“Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.” (Rom 15:13)

When we lose hope we are destined for failure. Hope in the Lord!

6. Be Led!

“For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. 14For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.” (Rom 8:14)

Stopping and waiting upon the Lord and being led by His Holy Spirit will always result in His blessing.

7. Be TRUSTING!

“5Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” (Prov 3:5,6)

Recognizing that we cannot depend upon ourselves to fix everything will result in a major breakthrough. Instead, trusting and relying on our great and mighty God is the best thing we can do.

Conclusion: When we do not know what to do, these 7 biblical passages can give us direction as to what we are to do.
So if you do not know what to do about a situation, look back over this list and follow there instructions.
Expect to be blessed!
