Enjoying the Journey

Introduction: Are you enjoying the journey? You ask…but “how can I with all the stress of life?” This devotion will help you get reconnected to “Enjoying the journey with JESUS”!
1. Be sure your sins are confessed up to date!
“9If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1John 1:9)
Notice the word “IF.” Our Lord gives us a choice. But He knows what is best. So in order to be in FELLOWSHIP with Him, we must admit when we sin and then allow Him to put it under His cleansing blood (1John 1:7). Have you confessed your sins lately?
2. Be sure you are taking time daily to wait upon the Lord!
“31But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” (Isa 40:31)
Praise the Lord for His STRENGTH! We need it!! Amen & amen. So take time to wait.
3. Be sure you are not allowing WORRY pull you down! (1Pet 5:7)
Care will overwhelm you and zap you of your joy. Unless, you constantly throw your worries and concerns on Him. By the way, He can carry a heavy load!
4. Be sure you are making use of your life by fulfilling your purpose by serving the Lord!
“10For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” (Eph 2:10)
We are saved by GRACE alone, through FAITH alone, for the purpose of producing GOOD WORKS. However, He is the Vine and we are the branches. As we abide in Him (John 15:1-7), His Word and power abides in us.
5. Be sure you are staying dressed for battle!
“10Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places…” (Eph 6:10-18)
Staying clothed with the whole armor of God is an absolute must. That means daily.
6. Be sure you are admiring God’s creation!
“The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. 2Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.” (Psa 19:1,2)
“When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained,” (Psa 8:3)
The beauty of God’s creation is a spectacle of amazement. Gen 1:1 declares it all.
“1In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.”
Imagine how beautiful heaven is going to be!
7. Be sure you are evaluating your life as we stand before Jesus at the “bema”!
“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.” (2Cor 5:10)
It’s coming, maybe sooner than we expect. Are you ready?
