A Turn Around – Setbacks for Comebacks

Introduction: Life has its mountains and valleys. The most spiritual growth usually takes place in the valleys. It’s in the valleys that…

* we learn to trust

* we cry out to God

* we recognize our weaknesses

* we turn tests of faith into testimonies of faith

Are you in a valley?

Remember the clay does not tell the Potter what to do, instead, it simply yields to the hands of the Potter.

This devotion today is loaded with truth that transforms.

1. Burdens turned into blessings! (Psa 34:1-4)

“I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. 2My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad. 3O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together.”

As the songwriter wrote,

“Burdens are lifted at Calvary!”

2. Fear turned into Faith! (Psa 34:4-9)

“I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. 5They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed. 6This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles. 7The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them. ðŸ˜¯ taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. 9O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him.”

Fear is FALSE EVIDENCE APPEARING REAL!

F-E-A-R

What did our Lord inspire Paul to write to Timothy about fear?

“7For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” (2 Tim 1:7)

3. Afflictions are turned into prayer Addictions! (Psa 34:15-19)

“The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry. 16The face of the LORD is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth. 17The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles. 18The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. 19Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.”

Did you notice the Psalmnist says MANY are the AFFLICTIONS of the righteous but the Lord DELIVERS them out of them ALL?

Conclusion: This Word from the Lord changing everything; i. e. the way we look at things, react to things, and go through things. With Burdens turned into Blessings, Fear turned into Faith, and Afflictions turned into Prayer Addictions, it is a game changer!!
