Affliction and Restoration

Introduction: What does “affliction” have to do with “restoration”? Take a look at the book.
1. Affliction can bring conviction! (Psa 119:67) – “Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now have I kept thy word.”
The word “afflicted” is עָנָה: (aw-naw’), which means to be bowed down or afflicted. It can have to do with humility. Our Lord knows how to humble us. “Astray” is the word שָׁגַג, : (shaw-gag’). It literally means to go astray, or to commit sin or error. Truthfully, at times we have a tendency to err. With the world, the flesh, and the devil pulling on believers, it can be very challenging to stay focused on Jesus.
2. Conviction can bring restoration! (Psa 119:67) – “Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now have I kept thy word.”
Did you notice the words “but now”? Praise the Lord! Where sin abounds grace does much more abound!
Conclusion: Since affliction comes in many forms and fashions, every Christian needs to be prayerful and careful to understand why he or she is facing afflictions. Some, but not all, may be intended for RESTORATION! What about it?
Love y’all,
