How To Pray for a Person Who Is Lost

1. Pray with confidence! (1Tim 2:4,5)
2. Pray for conviction! (John 16:8)
“7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. 8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: 9 Of sin, because they believe not on me; 10 Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; 11 Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.”
Please understand that we cannot save anyone. It takes the Holy Spirit to convince someone that they are in need of forgiveness of their sin and a relationship with Jesus Christ.
3. Pray for conversion! (Eph 2:3-6)
“And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; 2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: 3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. 4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, 5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ.”
Once the Holy Spirit brings conviction upon an individual, then by grace through faith they are saved as they receive Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.
