Turning Troubled Times into Tested Trust
All of us are facing new trials and tests every day. That is the way life is. Right? So in light of this, what should we be doing? Take a look and examine these five time-tested truths that are guaranteed to turn troubled times into triumphant trust.
Here’s what we need to be doing.
1. Will you be willing to turn from going the wrong way and turn to the right way? (1 Thess. 1:9) – “For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God.”
Do you need to make a U-turn? Evidently, there were those in the church of Thessalonica who made a change, and it was all for the better. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if all those on your heart today who need to turn from idols would do so?
2. Will you be saved and serve Jesus instead of self? (1 Thess. 1:9) – “For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God.”
Did you notice how the first step was turning from idols, but the second step was turning to Jesus and serving Him? Have you done that?
3. Will you watch and wait for Jesus to return? (1 Thess. 1:10) – “And to wait for his Son from heaven.”
While serving our Lord, we are instructed to be ready for His return. Are you ready?
4. Will you worship a risen Lord and Savior? (1 Thess. 1:10) – “…whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus.”
Thank God we serve a living God! Jesus conquered the grave, death, sin, and the devil. He’s alive forevermore! Hallelujah!
5. Will you witness to others about the coming wrath of God? (1 Thess. 1:10) – “…even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.”
Jesus is coming. Are you lovingly warning others? Why? Because judgment is inevitable. Ready or not, Jesus is coming to judge.
Conclusion: How can we turn these troubled times into triumphant trust? By applying the principles found in this passage of Scripture. Doing so will enable you and me to live a life pleasing to our Lord, and at the same time prepare us to stand before Him when He returns.
Thanks for reading this. May our Lord bless you today.
