1. Let GO of the “pleasures of the sins of this world”! (Heb. 11:25) – “Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season.”

This was said of Moses. He was at a crossroads. Which way should he go? Which way would you go? Well, he chose the right turn. God blessed him. Howbeit, he faced hardship. Please take note. Making the right decision does not always mean smooth sailing. Storms are ahead. But remember. Jesus is the Captain of our salvation; therefore, we need not fear. He will navigate us thru the storms of life into His safe harbor.

2. Enjoy the “peace of God” from doing the will of God! (Phil. 4:6–7) – “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

Follow the steps to HAPPINESS and CONTENTMENT. First, fight WORRY. Second, practice PRAYER. Third, give THANKS. Fourth, do not try to understand why there is a PEACE that you cannot explain. Fifth, follow JESUS.

3. Look forward to the “promises” of His Word! (Rom. 4:20–21) – “He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.”

Case in point: Abraham could not see the answer to what God told him with his physical eyes, namely, a promised heir, a son. However, he was able to see it with the eye of faith and believe it with the heart of faith. That is why he was able to receive him with the hand of faith. What has the Lord promised you?

Now that we have taken a “look at the book,” where are you searching for happiness? Obviously, there is not true happiness found in the “pleasures of sin.” Why? Because God made us to have fellowship with Him. And sin breaks that fellowship. On the other hand, being in the will of God brings “peace” and “security.”

And finally, trusting the Lord’s promises even when you can’t clearly see them, yet you believe Him by faith, releases His blessings, which bring real HAPPINESS.
