1. How to Stand Firm! (Joshua 3:4–5) – “That ye may know the way by which ye must go: for ye have not passed this way heretofore. And Joshua said unto the people, Sanctify yourselves: for to morrow the LORD will do wonders among you.” 

First, we must believe God in order to stand firm. He is able to do wonders! Has He in your life?

2. Why to Stand Firm! (Joshua 3:10) – “And Joshua said, Hereby ye shall know that the living God is among you, and that he will without fail drive out from before you the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Hivites, and the Perizzites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Jebusites.” 

So why should we stand firm? Please notice. Because our God is a LIVING GOD! And the world needs to know that JESUS CHRIST is alive! He’s risen!! Tell the world.

3. When We Stand Firm! (Joshua 4:6–7) – “That this may be a sign among you, that when your children ask their fathers in time to come, saying, What mean ye by these stones? Then ye shall answer them, That the waters of Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of the LORD; when it passed over Jordan, the waters of Jordan were cut off: and these stones shall be for a memorial unto the children of Israel for ever.” 

I love that. When we stand firm and set up stones as the Israelites did, it becomes a memorial to our CHILDREN and grandchildren. Don’t you want to pass on a LASTING LEGACY?
